The Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe regularly organises academic conferences.
Conference papers and findings are usually published in the Institute series (see the conference archive).
Since 1994, the Federal Institute for Culture and History of the Germans in Eastern Europe and the Oldenburg University have been running a cooperative, interdisciplinary project, the "Forum Central Europe - Eastern Europe".
Readings, guest lectures, seminars and excursions aim to embrace the cultural and historical topography of Eastern Central Europe, from Trieste to Riga, from Eastern Germany to Western Russia. A lecture cycle on changing topics is central to the project (for past lectures see the lecture cycle archive).
