On the basis of an annual questionnaire, and the evaluation of relevant academic specialist resources, the following `works in progress´ are documented: editions, research papers, essays, contributions to collections and lexica, second doctorates, doctoral, masters and graduation theses.
The following works are not included: reviews, obituaries, seminar papers and excursion reports.
Titles that are relevant to several specialist areas or regions receive multiple entries.
The collection is divided into three sections:
B: Literature and Language
C: Art History (with its own scheme of division)
Authors covered in Section B must either be born in or have a literary connection to the region in question.
The Academic Information Service has only been available on the internet since the 2003 issue.
Issues 2-11 (1993 to 2002) were published in the Institute yearbook.
The WID questionnaire can be downloaded for participation in future surveys. Information about and references to titles that have been published is also welcome.
