Library

The Institute library holds at present 57 000 books and 751 periodicals (87 current periodicals and 116 in Eastern European languages). The foci of the collection correspond to the work priorities of the Institute (General Information). The whole collection of monographs can be researched on the internet, by the catalogues of the Oldenburg Library Association and the Common Library Association (GBV) and the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalogue (KVK). The periodical collection is at present only partly included in these catalogues. The libraries of the Institute and the University of Oldenburg co-operate closely, e.g. in the areas of acquisitions and augmentation of the collections.
The library is a member of the Working Group of Libraries and Documentation Authorities for research on East, East Central and South Eastern Europe (ABDOS).
The Institute library is a publicly accessible reference library (no local or external loans), and can be used during Institute opening times, Mon. to Thurs. from 8.00 to 16.00 and Fri. from 8.00 to 15.00.
